Welcome from Mayor Scott D. Washburn
As Mayor of the City of Upper Sandusky, I would like to welcome you to our beautiful city. Upper Sandusky is the ideal home for both families and businesses! We have small town living with big business appeal.
Upper Sandusky is poised to grow with a central location along two major US routes – US Route 30 and US Route 23 and three State Routes – SR 53, SR 67 and SR 199. We are close to commercial, private and corporate air service with rail access from all directions.
Upper Sandusky is rich in history, yet clearly focused on the future. Our origins date back to the early 1780's and was home to the Wyandotte Native Americans until 1842. Upper Sandusky became the Wyandot County seat in 1843 and is referred to as "Upper" by the local residents because it is located on the upper reaches of the Sandusky River.
This website has been designed to make City information and services more accessible. Whether you are a city resident, business person, or a visitor, we hope this website provides you with a useful and comprehensive source of information.
We also know how important communication is and that is one of the reasons why this site is dedicated to informing our citizens (and potential citizens) about what our city is doing, our many services and recreational activities and other great features. Look through our links and plan to come back often to see what Upper Sandusky can do for you!
